Good bye...

    Today  is  last  in  Telly's  class.   I  feel  this  summer  school   was  very  short.  I  become  used  to  living  Chicago  and  classmates.....I  can't  forget  to  met  classmates  and  teatures  for  the  first  time.  I  was  afraid  that  come  along   with  classmates   and  keep  up  with  the  class.  But  I  was  happy  that   everyone  were  very  kind  and  funny.   I  regreted  not  study  English  before  I  came  to  Chicago.  If  I  can  speak  English  very  well,  I  want  to  talk  with  classmates  and  teatures.  The  teatures  helped  me  in  class  in  spite  of  my  ill  speaking.  Thank  you....!!

    I  will  stay  here  untill  the  end  of  the  August,  and  plan  to  go  to  Niagara  with  my  brother  for  2  or  3  days.   Some  people  will  go  to  New  York,  perhaps  I  will  go  there...   After  I  will  go  back  my  country,   look  for  occupation.  I  want  to  get  a  English  school  with  work  and  will  go  to  Chicago  someday.   Thank  you  for  everyone.  Good  luck!!

My artist statement

  I  will  try  to  speak  actively  with  American  people  to  this  project.   Because  my  project  is  about  American  personality.  I  have  to  know  more  American  ideas.   As  I  decided  the  subject,  want  to  be  activily  like  Americans.  Because  I'm  shy  and  quiet.

  I  think  that  to  know  each  personality  become  establish  friendly  relations.   If  I  know  a  little  American  personality,  I  will  can  find  weakness  and  good  point  of  Japanese  personality.  After  present  the  final  project,  I  hope  be  proud  of  myself  Japanese  and   learned  to  American  culture.

   In  wednesday,  I  will  speech  with  using  some  photographs  that  reflected  interviewer   and   the  image  of  Americans  characters. 

Mexican museum

                            Mexcican    museum

          Today,   I  went  to  Mexican  museum  with  teachers  and  classmates.   This  time  We  took  a  train  in  Blue  Line  to   get   there.   The  sight  of   Pilsen   is  bright   in  comparison  with  the  neiberhood  of  Dusable  museum.   Whenever  we  walked  in  streets,   we  could  see   a  lot  of  murals   on  the  walls   of   the  buildings.   I  was     impressed   that  they  used  clear  colors  and  adventurous  designs.   One  of  them  expressed  with  green,  white,  and  red  like  the  national  flag   of   Mexico.   It  looked  like  an  insistence  something,   or   just   to  enjoy   the  painting.   I  don’t   know,   but  it  was  very  nice.
In  the  museum,  The  guide,   a  Mexican  man,  explained  to  us  about  articles  on  display.   Almost  all  the  displays  were   pictures,  especially  there  were   many  pictures   of    Jesus  Christ.   The  most  of   my  impression  was   a  large  picture  that   have  a  eye   and   worship  animals  and  a  big  face  of  humans.   Because  it  used  very  beautiful  blue  colors , and  I  felt  it  is  important  for  Mexican.   
We  went  to  the  restaurant   of  Mexican  foods.   As  I  had  never  eaten  the  home  Mexican  foods   and   I  studied  the  Tamales  of   Mexican   traditional    foods    in  reading  class,    I  was  looking  forward  to  eat  the  Mexican  foods.  It  was  really  delicious.  But  the  Tamales   was   not  good   for  me !    

my project

I  change  a  little  the  subject  in  my  project.   Because  I  can't  understand  common  sense.  I  will  proposal  for  ' Personality' .  I  will  talk  about  Japanese  personality  in  comparison  with  American  personality.   Why  I  chose  the  subject,   because  I'm  shy  and  timidity,  I  want  to  be  activity  like  an  Americans.   

I  want  to  know  that  American  personality's  characteristic,   difference  between  Japanese  and  American  and   what  are  American  culture  or  American  personality   influenced ?    I  will  interview  at  least  three  people  about  American  personality.   And   I  will  take  some  pictures   that  I  think  of  American  personality   for  example   big  gestures  and   over  actions.   I  prepare   for  some  question.    Do  you  think  Americans  are  more  receptive  to  new  things?   Why   do  Amwricans  have  big  gestures?     What  are  American  or  Japanese  charactics?     When  do  you  become  adult?    And  I  will  analyze  answers   myself   and   search  for   the  Americans  trait.         

African museum

     Today  I  went  to  the  African  museum  by  bus  with  classmates  and  teachers.   The  museum's  name  is  Dusable.   It  took  about  20  or  30  minutes  to  get  there.   Ifelt  too  far  from  sckool  as  I  could  see  the  strange  sight  of  outside  the  bus.   There  were  a  lot  of  black  people  outside  and  they  increased  as  we  gat  closer.   When  I  enterd  the  site  of  the  African  museum,  at  first  I  couldn't  find  the  whole  shape  of  it  because  it  was  surrounded  by  the  leaves  of  big  trees.   Certainly  the  museum's  color  was  white.   Even  though  the  building  was  small  the  entrance  wae  still  a  long  way  from  it.   Unfortunately,  I  thought  it  would  be  a  lot  bigger.

    Three  people  explained  to  us  the  museum  and  African  culture.  The  museum  had  a  first  floor  and  a  basement.   The  first  floor  displayed  some  pictures  of  the  lyinching  of  black  people.   There  were  some  manacles  that  bound  the  black  people  underneath  the  pictures.  The  guides  explained  to  us  a  detailed  description  of  lyinching.

    Another  place  introduced  the  explotation  of  great  black  people  such  as  Annie  Mallone  and  Margaret  Taylor.   There  were  also  some  sculptures  and  wood  handcrafts  depicting  black  people.   When  I  went  to  down  the  basement,  I  could  see  an  apparatus  for  drinking  water.   There  were  two  types  for  each  race ;  white  and  black.   A  wide  room  displayed  many  posters  and  records  of  famous  singers.   The  museum  as  a  whole  was  bright  and  clean  and  the  guides  were  very  kind.

    Before  I  went  to  the  African  museum,  I thought  I  will  be  bored.  Because  my  final  project  is  not  African  culture,  I  had  no  special  feelings.   But  when  I  saw  a  picture  that  described  how  White  people  hung  and  burned  them  while  they  surrounded  African  Americans  with  smiling  faces,  my  blood  froze.  It  was  too  cruel  a  scene.   People  in  the  period  took  African  Americans  to  a  strange  continent  with  a  bad  environment.  What  did  they  think  about  African  Americans ?   I  wonder  if  they  felt  guilty  or  not.   I  hope  they  felt  guilty  because  it  is  wrong  that  human  beings  trade  human  beings  and  deal  irresponsible  with  them.

    This  event  ought to  be  sad  for  everyone.  I  think  White  people  should  have  to  go  to  the  African  museum  and  talk  about  African  Americans.  Because  now  African  Americans  are  distinguished  people  in  certain  areas.   I  hope  they  will  be  compensated  for  their  terrible  experiences.

    In  contrast  the  pictures  of  famous  singers  moved  me.   There  were  many  posters  and  records,  I  felt  all  of  the  posters  had  wonderful  designs  and  use  of  colur.   The  black  people  on  the  posters  looked  like  they  were  fill  with  pride.   I  admired  them.  It  was  really  nice.   I  think  the  black  people  have  absolute  music  and  a  great  talent.   Their  music  highly  are  impressed  with  us.   I  guess  it  is  the  irony  of  fate  that  the  black  music  made  up  of  helpless  against  the  White  people.

   The  time  I  went  to  African  museum,  I  was  given  the  opportunity  to  consider  the  muaning ' America'  again.   Especially  how  America  receives  various  people  and  different  cultures,  which  makes  it  difficult  to  unite  the  whole  country.   But  I  think  the  meaning  of  the  African  museum  is  not  to  blame  but  to  understand  and  admit.   As  the  guides  explained  to  us  many  times,  they  wanted  to  people  to  know  the  facts.  And  now,  that  we  know  the  facts  what  should  we  do ?   I guess  we  should  think  more  and  talk  about  African  Americans  and  American  culture  in  the  future.

   I  hope  the  African  museum  will  move  to  Down  Town  so  many  people  can  look  at  information  about  African  Americans.   Before  I  went  to  the  museum,  I  was  scared  of  black  people  on  the  South  side  of  Chicago.   Now  I'm  going  to  try  to  change  my  mind.   There  are  many  various  races  and  people  of various  occupations  in  Chicago.   I'm  sure  that  it  is  brought  me  great   experiences.   I  want  to  know  more  about  their  history  and  habits.   I  also  want  to  know  my  country's  history,  characteristics  and  its  dark  side.    

 

TOY

My  tutor's  name  is  Sara.   I  asked  her  what  her  favorite  toys  or  games  were  when  she  was  a  child.    As  she  didn't  remember  toy's  name,  she   serched  the  toys  on  the  Internet  with  me.   There  were  lots  of  kinds  of  the  toys  on  the  Website.   She  looked  like  she  was  so  excited  about  the  infomation  of  the  toys.   Although   she  spoke  to  me  about  something,  pointing  to  the  toys  names  on  the  Website,  I  didn't  know  the  toys.

Her  favorite  was  ' Gumby' .   Gumby  was  a  character  on  the  TV.   It  looks  like  a  long  things  made  of  rubber  with  bendable  wires  inside  and  is  green.   Gumby  has  some  friends,   Pokey,  Prickle, and  Goo.  When  she  was  a  child  she  often  watched  them  on  TV.  She  said  that  the  story  was  short,  the  content  was  funny  and  about  everyday  incidents.  On  the  internet,  there  are  Gumby  movies,  DVDs,  Video  games  and  books.  She  said  Gumby  was  a  very  famous  toy  in  the  World.  But  I  didn't  know  about  it.

my final project

I  chose  ' Personal  culture  in  comparison  with  American  culture'   in  my  final  project.   I  plan  to  focus  on  common  sense  because  it  is  different  from  each  country.  common  sense  is  particular  own  country,  also  it  forms  parsonality.  I  think  American  is  loose, generous  and  liberal  and   Japanese   is  earnest,  to  rigid.    I   want  to  know  wonder  it  is  right  and  the  factor.  But  it  is  difficult !   it  is  too  abstract,  not  absolute.   I  hope  that  I  can  understand  youghly  American  personality.

I  prepere  for  some  inteview.   I  will  go  to  Millenium  park,  and  ask  for  some   persons  or  family   following  questions.

What  kind  of  a  man  have  no  common  sense?        Do  you  think  that  common  sense  is  differ  in  an  age  bracket?       Do  you  know  Japanese  culture?      What  do  you  think  Japanese  personality?    And  I  have  show  people  some  photographs  and  have  select  them  as  to  think  about  common  sense.   

I  want  to  interpret   that  different   of   common  sense  between  my  country  and   American. 

   

to improve in my writting

I  reviewed  all  my  weblog's  sentences  and  vocabulary  in  my  class.  Looking  back  to  my  collection  is  shame  too  much  by  myself.  But  I  really  have  good  experience  to  look  back.  When  I  reviewed   my  sentences   of  first  time,  I  noticed   that  there  are  a  lot  of  mistakes  and   very  simple  comments  in  my  sentences.  I  completely  didn't  know  vocabulary.  does  vocabulary   need  ending  a  's' ?  .....A  vocabulary  is  countable  so  need  a  's' !  I  think  the  last  writting  is  a little  improvement   on  the  first.  Recent  writting  become  long  sentences.

This  is  Reading  class,  I  write  my  opinion  about  some  question  of  Interpreter  Of  Maladies. 

P 62,   what  does  Mrs.Das  reveal  to  Mr.Kapasi ?     Mrs.Das  reveal  to  Mr.Kapasi  that  her  child  is  not  Raj's  son .    she  has  hidden  from  Raj  and  her  children  for  eight  years.    why  do  you  think  she  does  this ?    Because  she  is  tired  of  feeling  so  terrible  all  that  time.  she  has  been  in  pain  eight  years.  I  think  she  looked  for  someone  who  relieved  her  by  confession.  Mr.Kapasi  has  no  concern  with  her  family, so  she  can  confess.

P 68,   what  does  Mr.Kapasi  want  to  whisper  in  Bobby's  ear ?    I  think  Mr.Kapasi   want  to  tell  about  her  secret  to  Bobby.  Fortunately  Bobby  was  stunned,  Mr.Kapasi  could't   tell  to  him.

P69,   what  is  the  meaning  of  the  paper  with  Mr.Kapasi's  adress  on  it  floating  away  in the  mind ?    I  think  the  paper  with  Mr.Kapasi's  adress  expresses  Mrs.Das's  heart.  she  doesn't   need  the  paper  and   released  in  pain.  And   he  know,  he  only  just  can   watch    that  family.....Perhaps  so !
